This policy explains what personal data Ruminant Audio Works Ltd ("we", "us") collects through TayPE and our associated websites and services, why we collect it, and what rights you have.
We believe in plain language, minimal data collection, and respecting your time. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't track you across the web.
Who we are
Ruminant Audio Works Ltd (Company No. 16978494) is a company registered in England and Wales. We make TayPE, a multitrack recording application for macOS.

What we collect and why

What crash reports contain
Crash reports include your TayPE version, macOS version, CPU architecture, audio interface name, sample rate, buffer size, loaded plugin names, track count, transport state, and a technical stack trace. They do not contain your name, email address, Apple ID, machine serial number, or any recording content.
Crash reports are only sent when you explicitly choose to send them. TayPE shows you the full contents before sending. You can also copy the report to your clipboard or save it as a file instead.
What we do not do
- We do not use analytics or tracking cookies on our websites
- We do not embed third-party trackers, pixels, or social media widgets
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for their marketing
- TayPE does not phone home, check licences online, or send any data without your explicit action

All processors are based in jurisdictions with adequate data protection standards or operate under standard contractual clauses.

Your rights
Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Erasure — ask us to delete your data (where we have no ongoing legal obligation to retain it)
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time, or ask us to stop processing data you've consented to
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Complain — lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your rights have been infringed

Mailing list
When you sign up for our mailing list, we use double opt-in: after submitting your email, you will receive a confirmation email. Your address is only added to the list after you click the confirmation link. We record the timestamp and source of your consent.
Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from the list immediately.
Children
TayPE is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify mailing list subscribers by email.
